„YMCA Europe is a working fellowship to strengthen movements where people grow in body, mind and spirit.“

About the campaign

More than 7000 young YMCA members had the experience of their life that sunny week in August 2008 in Prague. Workshops on important issues, live concerts, sports activities, invasion of the city of Prague and in the middle of the Festival village the beautiful Festival Church. Real Life with Jesus in the centre. A new and strong understanding of YMCA today was impressed on young peoples' minds and souls and hearts. Great leadership building for the future!

Become a Friend of YMCA Europe

YMCA Europe invested the whole staff team to carry the Festival on their shoulders together with a great volunteer team from around the world. It worked out well and the event was well planned and well managed.

YMCA Europe has already started to plan for the next YMCA Europe Festival August 4-10, 2013. Despite difficult financial times it is important that we keep the staff team to prepare for 10 000 young people to come to the Festival.

Your National Movement has decided to help us to make sure that there will be a next Festival. Inspired by Aberdeen YMCA in Scotland and the Chair of YMCA Scotland, Mike Will, we ask for your help to positively change the lives of 10 000 young people and to create new leadership for our YMCA movement. Please click on one of the links bellow to register either yourself or your local YMCA and pledge to send a minimum of 100 Euros a year for three years. We will publish your donation on our website, www.ymcaeurope.com

For some of you 100 Euros is a small sum. Of course we shall be happy if you can offer even a higher amount, but this is up to your kind decision.

Thank you for seriously considering our campaign to change the lives of 10 000 young YMCA people!

Johan Vilhelm Eltvik, Past Secretary General,YMCA Europe

Mike Will„Having discussed Friends of YMCA Europe with the Board of Directors of Aberdeen YMCA, the good news is that they agreed for Aberdeen YMCA to also become a 'Friend of YMCA Europe' and will make financial commitment of €500 (five hundred euros) per year for the next 3 years. The Board was inspired by the feedback from the European Assembly and felt that this was a perfect opportunity for us to share our faith by sharing our talents with our brothers and sisters in YMCA Europe and pray that this small gift will be blessed to realise significant fruit for the kingdom of God."
Mike Will, Chair of YMCA Scotland
