The YMCA Europe, in cooperation with the YMCA of Czech Republic, Y's Men International and the local authorities established a European Training Centre in Litomysl, Czech Republic.
Litomysl is the UNESCO world heritage city, situated about 150 kilometres east from Prague. Litomysl is the hometown of the famous Czech composer Bedrich Smetana, author of My Country symphonic poem known all around the world. The house where Bedrich Smetana was born, an old brewery situated next to the Litomysl castle, will become the home of the YMCA Europe Training Centre. Litomysl has some 10.000 inhabitants. The city has a very good connection to Prague (both by bus and by train); it takes about 3 hours to reach Litomysl from Prague.
As part of the complex of the Castle of Litomysl (a UNESCO World Heritage site) the Training Centre is in beautiful architectural environment and already offers a facility for different YMCA events. Meantime renovation of the building is in process and when completed it will enable the YMCA Europe and member Movements to carry out training programme and related events at full scale.
Training Centre is open for all YMCAs in whole Europe. There is also possibility for different kinds of organization to hire Training Centre. Movements can participate in the trainings offered by European Alliance of YMCAs or use training centre facilities for their own events. We use the hotels in the city to accommodate users of Training Centre. Come to Litomysl and spend nice days working and resting together with your team.
