General Assembly 2008
The General Assembly 2008 under the title "Lost in Translation" welcomed in Litomysl more than 90 participants. Once again everybody enjoyed the special atmosphere of the YMCA Training Centre and City of Litomysl. This year were elected the new members to the YE Executive Committee - so warm welcome to Merita Goldi, Beate Turck, Stepan Cerny and Karin Hammar. Catch the Vision
Start making plans for the fall of 2008! The YMCA Europe will once again organize another session of very special and interesting seminar Catch the Vision - Spiritual Roots of Reconciliation. After Litomysl, Jerusalem, Prizren and Yerevan we will meet in Shkodra-Albania. Keep informed about this initiative that brings together great faciliators, accomplished YMCA locals and participants from all over Europe. More information coming soon!
YMCA Europe Office and Festival
Dear Friends, with the Festival less than a month away the YMCA Europe Office in Prague is now fully involved in the preparations. Fortunatelly we have great help from number of volunteers that are working well past their assigned tasks! Thank you Johanna, Wiebke, Diana, Lene, Miriam and Kristina!
In Memoriam ..
The very dear and close friend of the YMCA Europe J. Bruce Knox of Lockport, Illinois, retired YMCA of the USA Director for Europe, passed away yesterday, on Monday January 14th, 2008. From 1989 to 1997 he served as a liason officer between YMCA of the USA and the European Alliance of YMCAs, participated at all meetings of the EAY and visited most of the National YMCAs in Europe.

The Festival is taking shape! In November different groups met in the YMCA Europe Training Centre to intensify various preparatory tasks for the festival. In memory of Graeme Angus
It is with great sadness that I write to tell you that Graeme Angus passed away after long illness.
As most of you know, Graeme devoted his whole adult life to the service of the YMCA culminating in serving as Acting National Secretary in the English YMCA from February 2002 until June 2003.

The Mayor of Prague, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic took over the patronage of the YMCA Europe Festival 2008!
This will be of great assistance to us during the upcoming preparations of the Programme and Technical Details. More news about the Festival will be coming soon.
Special Announcement - Extended Deadline
YMCA Europe is announcing opening of voluntary positions for working in its Representation team and encourages young motivated YMCA members to apply for inclusion in the team. The work in the Representation team is a good opportunity for obtaining international “political” experience, which will be a good support to professional and personal development.
