We had over 70 applications for the post, long listed down to 15 and then shortlisted six candidates for interview. All of the shortlisting and interview processes were assessed against the criteria laid out in the person specification and the decision to appoint Mike was unanimous. This appointment is a crucial step in the work that the Steering Group is developing in the planning of YMCA175 as a global youth event at ExCeL London (August 4-8, 2019).
Mike has significant experience of organising local Music and Arts Festivals in the south of England and of course he knows the YMCA and the context of our event very well. Mike will work with the Steering Group, partners and key stakeholders in order to fulfill his new responsibilities as Event Manager. Therefore he is resigning from his post with YMCA England & Wales (Communications Officer, Communications and Brand team) and will be taking up his appointment with YMCA Europe from May 1st 2018.
