Today, YMCA Europe proudly celebrates International Volunteers Day, honoring the steadfast commitment of volunteers to their communities.
Volunteers serve as the lifeblood of YMCA Europe, embodying selflessness, dedicating time, skills, and passion to create a lasting impact. They bridge gaps and foster understanding, connecting our organizations with youths across Europe. Whether mentoring, organizing events, or supporting those in need, our volunteers have touched thousands, shaping a socially conscious and community-oriented future generation.
On this significant day, YMCA Europe honors the remarkable contributions of nearly 200 volunteers representing 12 national YMCA Movements.
Their collective commitment has amounted to an incredible 34,777 hours of dedicated service. Nominated by individuals within their own organizations, each volunteer receives a personalized certificate of recognition. Our gratitude is further conveyed through a heartfelt video message from our Secretary General, Juan Simoes Iglesias.
With 95,000 volunteers continent-wide, YMCA Europe extends sincere thanks to each individual who has played a role in shaping our journey. The spirit of volunteerism reminds us that positive change is achievable through the collective efforts of passionate and dedicated individuals.
Once again—thank you to all our volunteers!
