On the 22nd of February, Representatives from YMCA Europe had the opportunity to attend the official launch and dissemination of the Impact Measurement Toolkit, joined by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, Maynooth University, Scouterna, Les Scouts, Scouts Macedonia, Skaut and YMCA Nederlands.
The event has been organized at the European Parliament, focusing on the idea that youth work enables young leaders across Europe to upskill and develop resilience and character for their life’s journey – and this truly requires a quality standards measurement tool, assessing the impact of their work accurately and effectively.
The tool was presented to over 80 stakeholders at the European Parliament, accompanied by profound discussions on the outcomes of the MIYO project, hosted by Michaela Šojdrová, the presentation offered a profound discussion and sharing of the outcomes.
YMCA Europe was happy to contribute to the Panel Discussion together with the Member of the European Parliament Michaela Šojdrová, Karen Vandeweghe- DG EAC, Professor Maurice Devlin from Maynooth University, Edel McCarthy from Scouting Ireland, Daiana Neil from World Scout Committee.
The panelists highlighted the importance of the impact measurement process in youth work through comprehensive tools for youth organizations, outlined its connection to policies and funding opportunities, shared insights from pilot phases, and emphasized the critical importance of joint work and synergy in strengthening the youth civil society field.
Together, we’ve delved into how robust social research can unveil the value of youth organizations, enriching educational experiences and showcasing their benefits to all stakeholders.
It’s a moment of celebration as we mark the culmination of the Measuring the Impact of Youth Organisations project, made possible by the support of the Europa Youth and the Eric Frank Trust. Shaping a brighter future for youth development, together.
‘Measuring Impact: with, for and by youth organisations.’ (MIYO Project) is aiming at bridging the gap between policy-making, academic research, and practical applications in the youth sector by elevating the standard of evidence that showcases the impact of youth organisations! At the heart of the project is a commitment to enhance the educational offers provided by youth organisations, particularly for young people in less privileged communities. The project consortium believes in empowering the youth, and this project is a step in that direction. Learn more
