The project got support from Erasmus+ so we could get on our first common activity. It was a study visit to the unique college in London togehter with our partner organisations from Romania, Czech republic, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia.
We were welcome by Dr. Brian Belton, an enthusiastic and unorthodox professor of the YMCA College. Together with him, students and other staff we discussed how is youth work developed in our countries, what are the current challenges and what can we do together to improve it.
Brian has not only showed us all th ecollege, greatest library of youth work in the world, but has invited us to his home with his friends, local youth workers from the many communities in London. Later we have visited METS, an unique place that gives young people who drop out of standard education a chance to learn and try something new: like build up a go-kart and taste the plumber/tile layer job.
We were accomodated in East Ham, multicultural part of London where are about 70 cultures and languages mixing in everyday life.
Our hosts provided unique experience upon which we would like to build further activities (seminar in Slovakia, June 2016) and even further cooperation over the years.
