Following the success of the previous great festival organised in 2003, in august 2008, August 3-9, Prague hosted another extraordinary event called “Real Life”.
Thousands of young smiles, colorful flags in the wind, drums and guitars: Real Life! YMCA Europe Festival 2008 in Prague. More than 7000 young YMCA members had the experience of their life that sunny week in August 2008 in Prague.
Workshops on important issues, live concerts, sports activities, invasion of the city of Prague and in the middle of the Festival village the beautiful Festival Church.
A new and strong understanding of YMCA today was impressed on young peoples’ minds and souls and hearts. Great leadership building for the future!
The second YMCA youth festival in Prague, “Real Life”, was by far the biggest undertaking in YMCA Europe this year. How much fun it was to organise it!
The interaction with hundreds of dedicated YMCA volunteers working for years to lift up the Festival and let it fly. All staff of YMCA Europe totally committed to this inspirational work. Was it hard? Did we sweat and sometimes loose our sleep? We do not remember that. What we remember is the thousands of smiles, the hands lifted, waving, clapping, celebrating, the music, the sun, the stars over our Festival village, the miraculous global YMCA village in Vystaviste.

The report on the festival said that 86% of the participants evaluated the festival generally as excellent/very good/good and 95% would recommend the Festival to a friend!
