From the 5th to 7th of February 2016, about 50 members, delegates of local Slovak YMCAs with families and friends, met in beautiful Liptov region in north Slovakia for the annual Assembly.
Apart from the official meetings regarding YMCA programme, financial evaluation, planning, decision making, we were happy to welcome among us a new full member local YMCA BA (Bratislava). Representatives of local YMCAs also shared their activities, what they are proud of and what challenges they face in youth work they do. National office presented programmes and international initiatives to join in. During the informal time and walks we discussed new cooperations, programmes and projects we could do together, concrete steps to achieve them.
It was really fruitful time for networking of people from all over Slovakia, mixed generations with senior and longterm YMCA friends, people interested in YMCA ideas, volunteers and kids already growing in this open-minded and creative environment.
YMCA Slovakia chose longer time ago a motto: "YMCA – space for next step". It was great to observe the informal, yet highly creative and inspirational atmosphere where everyone could move, contribute and grow in own pace.
