Exciting News: European Youth Foundation Grants Co-funding for YMCA Europe’s Innovative Youth Educates to empowering tomorrow’s leaders through non-formal education!
YMCA Europe is delighted to share the exciting news of the successful co-funding approval for the project “Youth Educates: strengthening the capacity of youth civil society organisations to run non-formal education activities” within the YMCA Europe Leadership Academy.
Thanks to the support of the European Youth Foundation, this project aims to enhance the quality of youth work by empowering youth civil society organizations to conduct impactful non-formal education activities.
The Youth Educates project will specifically focus on cultivating a cohort of young educators, arming them with the skills needed to elevate the quality of educational offerings within youth CSOs and extend outreach to marginalized youth in various communities.
Key Objectives of the Project:
- Empower young leaders with the essential skill set to plan, deliver, and evaluate non-formal education activities.
- Promote the competencies framework outlined in the Council of Europe Youth Work Portfolio.
- Engage youth from marginalized communities in non-formal education activities that foster intercultural learning, equity, inclusion, peace, and diversity.
The Youth Educates Project will have the following 3 main phases:
- Phase One: International Activity One, 5 days (April 2024): Training on developing skills for non-formal education planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Phase Two: Local Activities planned, delivered and evaluated by the participants of International Activity One based on the knowledge received. (May-October 2024).
- Phase Three: International Activity Two, 5 days (October-November 2024): Training on how to evaluate the results of the organised local, non-formal education activities and developing key competencies for a youth worker in non-formal education (based on the Council of Europe Youth Work Portfolio).
Stay tuned for the upcoming Open Call for participation, where young leaders will have the opportunity to get involved and contribute to the project’s impactful initiatives.
