Ed has been involved in the YMCA for over 50 years in board positions and voluntary positions at local, regional, national and international level.
He served as YMCA Europe treasurer for 8 years, then as president between 2012 and 2016.
Outside of YMCA his voluntary work included Chairman of the Board of the Protestant schools in Maastricht.
He spent 15 years training civil servants about decision making processes in the European Union at the European Institute of Public Administration and also worked in the field of environment- and water management in the Province of Limburg.
Ed was appointed “Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau” by the King of The Netherlands in 2013.
