F.Albert Schwarz was from the Bavarian Federation of CVJMs.
At the European level he was involved in the European Area Committee (EAC) which later became what is known today as YMCA Europe. In October 1973 the officers were appointed as the EAC transitioned to operating as its own area organization and for the sake of simplification the officers stayed the same as those of the European Area Committee- making Albert the first President (1973-1976).
In 1965 the Kenya YMCA established a partnership with the German YMCA for fraternal assistance to revitalize its youth work. Albert was posted there from 1975 until 1980 where he worked as fraternal secretary in Nairobi.
The German YMCA sent Albert and the Youth in Industry program was started. The YMCA was able to work with young people in technical and industrial institutions in Kenya. Social and educational activities were features of the program, including Christian forums, seminars, conferences, holiday camps, and sports. It served youth in all sorts of academic, technical, and professional institutions
The Shauri Moyo YMCA craft training center and the Jamii Moya workshops in Nairobi will always be associated with his name.
Albert saw his main task in life as educating young people in Africa, he passed away in 2020 in Kenya and was buried at the family grave there.
