This September and Mid-October, PulseZ made a meaningful stop in Finland, hosting three inspiring events alongside YMCA Finland, local YMCAs across the country and UN Youth of Finland.
From Helsinki, to Tampere, and Turku, Youth voices matter, and they deserve to be heard. That’s the driving force behind PulseZ, an initiative by YMCA Europe that empowers young Europeans to use media, journalism, and storytelling as tools for change.
Building Peace Through Dialogue and Media in Tampere
The journey began with Peace Days at the Y (20-21 September, Tampere), two days dedicated to peacebuilding, anti-racism, and youth influence. Young participants aged 17-27 engaged in workshops, expert discussions, and collaborative sessions to explore how they can take an active role in promoting peace and inclusion in their communities.
Strengthening Advocacy Skills in Helsinki
A week later, the spotlight shifted to Helsinki for the International Advocacy Training (27-28 September). The event brought together young changemakers eager to amplify their voices in global decision-making spaces.
Through interactive sessions, youth delegates and experts shared insights on international advocacy, communication strategies, and content creation for both traditional and social media.
A Weekend of Learning, Sharing, and Inspiring Action
Over two vibrant days, participants not only gained practical advocacy and media skills but also built connections and exchanged experiences that will continue to shape their activism in Turku.
The sessions inspired powerful discussions about how young people can influence international policy, strengthen democratic participation, and share authentic stories that matter.
Gratitude and Next Steps in our Media Journey
PulseZ offers more than a space for expression; it`s a hub for skill development in digital journalism, helping young creators refine their craft. From learning creative techniques and storytelling to understanding entrepreneurial approaches, participants will connect with experienced correspondents from across Europe, gaining invaluable insights into the media world.
