The team at YMCA Revuca in Slovakia is looking for an international volunteer for a European Solidarity Coprs program “Challenge Yourself, Inspire Others” based in Jelšava, Slovakia, from the 1st of Nov 2025 – 30th of May 2027, for a total of 52 weeks.
Become part of a community that supports Roma children and youth on their journey of learning, growth, and inclusion. As a volunteer, you’ll help create a safe and inspiring environment while developing your own skills, friendships, intercultural awareness and unforgettable make memories, in a unique setting.
Activity Topics:
- Citizenship and democratic participation
- Working against discrimination (including gender discrimination)
Accommodation, Food & Transport Arrangements
As a volunteer, you’ll live in a fully equipped apartment close to the community centre, with your own private room and shared kitchen, bathroom, and living spaces. The flat includes all essentials for daily life, and your travel costs will be reimbursed after arrival according to ESC distance rules and your provided tickets.

- Open-minded and respectful: You’re willing to work with children and youth from diverse and sometimes marginalized backgrounds.
- Motivated and patient: You are ready to support the personal growth of others, even when progress takes time.
- Creative and proactive: You can bring new ideas, games, workshops, or activities to the community.
- Good team players: You’re interested in working alongside other volunteers and our local staff.
- Ready to learn: You want to learn about Roma culture, social inclusion, non-formal education, and about yourself.
- No special qualifications are required. While experience with children or youth is a plus, your motivation and willingness to engage are what matter most.
- As a volunteer, you’ll not only support the community, but also develop your own skills and gain intercultural experience.
