„YMCA Europe is a working fellowship to strengthen movements where people grow in body, mind and spirit.“

13th June 2018

Following retirement, Werner Stahl leaves Horyzon after 15 years.

The Foundation Board of Horyzon has elected Andrea Rüegg as his successor. She will take over the management as of 10.9.2018.

Over the past two years, the Horyzon Foundation has begun to develop a new strategy to position itself well for the future in the context of development cooperation. In this way, the change in the management is also tantamount to a thematic shift. This circumstance was also decisive for the election of a new director. In Andrea Rüegg, the Foundation Board has now found a suitable successor.

She completed her studies of international development in Vienna in 2008 and spent three guest semesters at the University of Zurich. She worked as a country program manager and team leader for several years in development cooperation. Her previous activities have taken her to Nepal as a consultant and in Switzerland she worked for the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) in the asylum interviews. Andrea Rüegg lives with her family in Benglen (ZH) and will work for Horyzon in a workload of 80%.

Horyzon is pleased to have found an experienced and committed managing director in Andrea Rüegg.

The Foundation Board would like to thank Werner Stahl for his many years of personal and dedicated commitment to the Foundation and, as a result, to the young people of the world. He pursued the further development of Horyzon's profile in a sustainable manner and knew how to strengthen people and partners around the globe. The Foundation Board wishes him all the best and sincerely thanks him for his successful work.
