This time under the theme "Cultural Roots for Peaceful Co-existence". At the seminar David Tschorn was running the workshop called "Art of Photography" and during the entire stay in Belarus, all of us were – following David’s advises – making photos of landscapes, flowers, animals, people, details of architecture, seminar sessions, etc. Everything that impressed us…
We would like to invite you for the exhibition of these photos. We are working on that project so that the exhibition can be open soon.
But, let’s imagine now that you are in the vestibule of an elegant exhibition-hall somewhere in the world. With a glass of wine or juice in your hand, you are listening to young people – participants of CtV seminar from 13 countries. A wonderful group of people, colorful, from all corners of the continent, with very different experiences and ways of self-expression. And now they are not presenting the photos, they just talk about CtV seminar… Listen to them, maybe they have something important to share…
And the photos below (all of them made by David Tschorn and Beate Turck) are not the part of the exhibition, they are just to make CtV participants testimonies closer to you. But again, already now we invite you for the exhibition. Wait for it still a bit more- it is worth!
Best greetings, Juan Simoes and Michal Szymanczak (YMCA Europe)
"For me, catch the vision was a unique one in a lifetime experience. I returned home feeling incredibly empowered, inspired and overwhelmed with the wealth of knowledge and insight I have gained… I most definitely believe that I have caught the vision" (Erin, N. Ireland)
"I learnt more about myself and will hopefully be able to use this to improve my life" (Mark, England)
"I think that exactly what this seminar does is what is essential to do to contribute to world peace; experiencing what is possible and bringing people together" (Birgir, Iceland)
"During the whole seminar I had a feeling of being in another reality… It seemed to me that I’m not in my country anymore. …Throughout the whole seminar I felt that everything in the world is interconnected, we are all connected with each other and all of us may be one" (Kristina, Belarus)
"I was reflecting on the colours that the people living in Volozhin used in their village to decorate the streets and it really struck me that a lot of brightful colours were used such as violet and green . . . colours that in my country are hardly ever used at all not even in dress code. Such colours emanate energy but at the same time it made me reflect how one perceives his life through colours" (Mario, Malta)
"It is inspiring to see that the celebrations of faith and culture are not compromised for fear of offending others. The tolerance of the Belarussian people is truly wonderful" (Dan, England)
"Harmony. This was felt increasing hour by hour and day by day in this seminar. In music one can call this as the Ghost beat. This happens when musicians are playing so much in a very creative mood all focused and in harmony with each other that as if by magic one could hear another musician playing with the band however nobody knows who it is . . . this is what happened at the Catch the Vision seminar" (Mario, Malta)
"… one could feel that there was a magical presence and in our case it was God" (Mario, Malta)
"I believe that as many people as possible should be able to access this project as the YMCA and its members will benefit in ways that are difficult to document" (Dan, England)
