This spring, junior basketball takes center stage in Finland’s vibrant capital, from May 15 to 17, 2026, the Helsinki Basketball Festival will welcome young players from across Europe for an exciting international tournament filled with competition, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
The Helsinki Basketball Festival, is organized by Helsinki YMCA, the largest basketball club in Finland. The team aims to brings together junior teams from across Europe for an unforgettable season-ending tournament in the heart of springtime Helsinki.
This is a great opportunity to invite every YMCA team to take part in exciting competitions, experience a truly international atmosphere, and celebrate the strong sense of community that defines the festival, both on and off the court.
Why join the event?
A special highlight of the event is the YMCA U15 European Championship, where U15 boys’ and girls’ teams compete for the prestigious European title. Beyond the court, teams experience an international atmosphere that encourages cultural exchange, friendship, and shared memories, making the tournament about much more than just results.
Festival Atmosphere Beyond the Games
On Saturday, May 16, all participating teams are invited to a dedicated Festival Area, featuring side activities designed for both players and coaches. This shared celebration adds a social and festive dimension to the tournament, strengthening the sense of community that defines the YMCA movement.
Practical Information & Participation
Participation is open to YMCA teams, with a team fee of €140 per team. Teams can choose between school accommodation or arranging their own lodging, both supported by dedicated tournament passes.
- YMCA Pass A includes school accommodation from Friday to Sunday, meals, public transportation, playing rights, and access to all side events.
- YMCA Pass B is designed for teams staying in hotels or hostels and includes meals, transport, playing rights, and access to festival activities. Special hotel rates are available through official tournament partners.
