At a time when democratic values across Europe face both new challenges and new opportunities, YMCA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people to be active citizens and changemakers.
Represented by Dragoș Tarța, Advocacy Officer and Policy Coordinator, YMCA Europe proudly joined the EU Parliamentary Democracy Forum on 19 November 2025, an initiative that unites institutions, civil society, and youth representatives to safeguard and advance democratic participation across the continent.
The Forum serves as a collaborative platform hosted by the European Parliament, bringing together diverse stakeholders who share a common goal: to build stronger, more resilient democracies rooted in inclusiveness, transparency, and trust.
Through policymaker exchanges and plenary sessions, participants work towards practical solutions that strengthen citizen engagement and participation in European decision-making.
By participating in this landmark initiative, YMCA Europe brings its long-standing experience in youth empowerment, leadership education, and civic engagement to a European partnership dedicated to strengthening parliamentary democracy.
As part of its broader Advocacy work, YMCA Europe continues to collaborate with EU institutions and youth networks to promote policies that reflect the voices, needs, and aspirations of young people.
Engagement in the EU Parliamentary Democracy Forum represents another step toward building a Europe where democracy, participation, and inclusion remain at the heart of decision-making.
