As announced during the Festival and immediately afterwards, we shall reflect about the IMPACT that LOVE 2 LIVE had on each of us and also on how it is influencing our work on the local, national and international levels.
For that reason we again encourage you to
WHY AN “IMPACT DAY” ?
It will be an opportunity to reflect about the experiences lived during the Festival and
It is a chance to link the objectives and outcomes of the Festival LOVE 2 LIVE with our YMCA realities. It is also a way to reflect about the similarities and differences that we find between the contents of the Festival and our YMCA daily work.
An IMPACT DAY gives us the opportunity of planning activities or actions in our local YMCA and community either on a specific day or during the upcoming months. Ideally those actions could become long terms programmes with an impact on other young people … with a real social transformation approach.
An IMPACT DAY is one way of keeping the LOVE 2 LIVE spirit alive among all participants that came to Prague, but also a chance to reach out to many others that could not join the Festival.
And finally … it is a great way to spread YMCA Europe´s Strategic Plan 2011 – 2016 across the whole European YMCA movement

FOR WHOM…?
The participants of your National / Local YMCAs that came to Prague… but not only them!
In fact as many young people involved in your programmes and groups as possible. Everyone near you at your YMCA are encouraged to take part at IMPACT DAY.
Definitely it is a good way to gather again everyone who experienced LOVE 2 LIVE but also to reach out to staff members, volunteers, committees and all sorts of teams
involved in the daily work.
Together they can celebrate the fact that they belong to the same European and World movement … at YMCA Peace Day!
WHAT TO DO …?
From a basic YMCA gathering to a more complex activity within the community… there are many ways of being part of IMPACT DAY.
Here are some examples of what you can plan :
- Contact all participants from your local YMCA who attended the Festival, invite them for a gathering in which they can share their outcomes from the Festival, exchanging thoughts, stories, experiences… Invite other members of your team and other young people who were not in Prague and organize a discussion on how the Festival can impact your local YMCA work.
- Plan an exhibition of photos, videos, posters, t-shirts, articles… about the Festival LOVE 2 LIVE and open it to everyone at your local YMCA. Make a presentation about the Festival and ask the participants to talk about the programme, the workshops, Prague and the networking they took part in.

Organize an action related with one of the FLAGSHIP PROGRAMMES within YMCA Europe´s Strategy which was also present throughout the Festival´s programme. It can be a one day action involving a specific group, the whole YMCA and – why not ? – your community.

Plan a long term initiative based on one of those 3 relevant programmes led by the young people that attended the Festival and involving staff and many others from your local YMCA but reaching out to your community. A real social transformation programme that would clearly link the Festival with your YMCA´s daily mission.
The international level connecting with the local level…. A wide international
experience followed by a local initiative …
EVALUATION & SURVEYS
After the Festival, a wide survey was sent to all participants. A high number of answers have been received and YMCA Europe is analyzing those results preparing a report that will be shared widely across the movement. Pre and post event surveys have been extremely useful.
One of the questions was about IMPACT DAY and the willingness of the participants to take part on such an activity. The answers were quite positive and encouraging.
