In an exciting move to expand the reach of digital education, YMCA Setubal (Portugal) is launching a brand-new series of online workshops as part of the international expansion of the HP Gaming Garage Project.
Aimed at capturing the attention of young creators around the globe, this initiative offers a fresh, engaging perspective on digital learning. By delivering all sessions fully in English, YMCA ensures that language barriers are eliminated, opening doors for participants worldwide to build foundational digital literacy and spark their creative curiosity.
Bridging the Digital Skills Gap in Creative Industries
The project focuses heavily on three rapidly growing sectors within the digital and creative industries: Game Design, 3D Modelling in Blender, and Esports Management.
YMCA Europe’s goal is to establish an accessible and inclusive learning space where young creators can build technical confidence, foster creativity, and develop critical problem-solving skills. A standout feature of these sessions is their capacity to enrich the existing, certified HP Gaming Garage online curriculum.
For instance, while the official HP platform does not offer a dedicated course on 3D modelling tools, YMCA Europe explicitly seeks to bridge this gap through practical, hands-on workshops.

What to Expect: A Deep Dive into the Curriculum
Throughout July and August, weekly interactive sessions will guide learners through the inner workings of interactive media and the gaming ecosystem.
Participants will explore how concepts transform into playable experiences, learn how to build unique 3D assets from scratch, and discover how the professional esports world operates behind the scenes. These workshops serve as an ideal gateway to the wider, free, and certified certifications offered by the HP Gaming Garage platform, including Game Design, Game Programming, Generative AI Mastery, and Esports Management.
Workshop Schedule and Format
The sessions will take place every Thursday during the summer months at 18:00 UTC+1. The organized schedule spans across eight carefully planned dates:
- July 9th, 16th, & 23rd: Game Design Workshops
- July 30th & August 6th: Esports Management Workshops
- August 13th, 20th, & 27th: 3D Modelling on Blender
These workshops represent a unique opportunity for any young creator looking to break into the digital future. Participation is completely accessible to all interested youth, and the skills built here will give them the essential tools to imagine, create, and thrive.
