GlobalCastle is an international youth project run by YMCA Bavaria (CVJM Bayern), bringing together young people from all over the world.
Every year, around 1,000 students take part in the English language camps at the historic YMCA Castle Wernfels in Bavaria, Germany. Through games, sports, workshops, music, and creative activities, participants experience English in a fun and immersive environment while connecting with an international team.
YMCA Bavaria is currently looking for motivated young adults to join the team for an 11-month Voluntary Social Year (FSJ), starting each October. FSJ is a German voluntary service through which volunteers work full-time at a host organization in exchange for pocket money, accommodation, and structured mentoring.

As an FSJ volunteer, participants will:
- Live and work in an international community with volunteers from around the world.
- Help organize and lead the English language camps for teenagers.
- Teach English through interactive activities, sports, games, music, and workshops.
- Support the development of the GlobalCastle project throughout the year.
- Grow personally, professionally, and spiritually while receiving mentoring from the experienced team.
What the programme offers
- Accommodation in Nuremberg.
- Travel costs to Germany covered.
- Monthly pocket money (approximately €450).
- Seminar days, mentoring, and 27.5 vacation days.
- An unforgettable intercultural experience within an international Christian community.
YMCA Bavaria is looking for enthusiastic young people with confident English skills who enjoy working with teenagers, appreciate intercultural exchange, and are excited to contribute to a meaningful international project.
