In August, more than 100 young people and leaders from 15 countries gathered in Magnetsried, Germany, for Youth Unify 2026.
Guided by the theme “Unique and United: Discovering Our Superpowers for Inclusive Communities,” participants explored between 5th and 11th of August their identities, recognised the strengths they carry and discovered how differences can become a powerful source of unity.
One of Youth Unify’s greatest strengths is the diverse community it brings together. Throughout the week, young people from different countries, cultures and YMCA contexts shared meals, stories, faith, challenges and laughter. At a time when differences can easily become barriers, Youth Unify presented another possibility: unity does not require us to become the same. Communities grow stronger when people can bring their whole selves, value the gifts of others and work together towards a shared purpose.

The programme also offered participants an opportunity to deepen their Christian identity and consider how faith can be expressed through action. Worship and reflection were woven throughout the week, inviting young people to explore how Jesus calls us to recognise the value of every person, cross boundaries and bring hope, reconciliation and a sense of belonging to their communities.
Youth Unify 2026 was much more than a summer camp. It was an investment in the next generation of YMCA leaders—helping young people build meaningful relationships, grow in confidence, gain practical leadership experience and return home with a renewed sense of purpose.
As participants rejoined their local YMCAs, they carried new friendships and a shared challenge with them: to discover their own superpowers, recognise the superpowers of others and use them together to create communities in which everyone can belong.

Youth Unify Planning Team
Youth Unify 2027 will be organised next August in Romania. More info to follow.
Youth Unify is aimed at 14-24 year olds with a YMCA connection who have an interest in exploring the Christian Mission and Identity of the YMCA. The camp is also suitable for young leaders over 24 years of age who are helping/volunteer and/or bringing a group of young people. UNIFY is a platform for YMCAs to share and reflect on the Christian Mission of the YMCA, as stated in the Paris Basis (1855), the founding document of the YMCA.
