Mark Healy represented YMCA Europe during the European Youth Forum’s Board meeting at the European Youth Centre in Budapest in July, starting their two-year mandate as representatives of youth civil society, driving forward Europe’s largest youth participation platform.
Across four days, Board members focused on the Forum’s governance, strategic priorities, advocacy work, and planning for the months ahead.

The meeting marked the beginning of a new term, laying the foundations for the Board’s work representing young people and youth organisations across Europe over the next two years.
As part of the programme, the Board met with representatives from the Hungarian National Youth Council, the Executive Director of the European Youth Centre Budapest, and the President of the European Committee of the Regions.

These meetings provided an opportunity to strengthen partnerships, discuss shared priorities, and explore opportunities for collaboration on issues affecting young people across Europe.
With its first meeting complete, the Board now begins its work of advancing the European Youth Forum’s strategic priorities, championing the interests of young people, and strengthening youth participation in decision-making at the European level throughout the 2026–2028 mandate.
