The Global National General Secretaries (NGS) Forum, organised by World YMCA, and hosted by YMCA Germany in Düsseldorf, from 16th to 20th February has been a great journey of developing synergies and shaping a joint strategy across our worldwide movement.
The program has been an insightful experience for the leadership our our European and worldwide movement, with 20 NGSs representing national movements from across our continent representing the voice, initiatives, and strategies aligned with Vision 2030 and over the 4 days connected with local YMCAs in Germany, exchanged good practices and programs – as well as strengthen the connection and prospective initiatives with YMCAs from every corner.
The alignment of the work among the national, regional and global levels is a crosscutting item when approaching common movement strengthening, programmatic and structural issues.
During the plenary sessions, The Troika Consulting Method was explored, providing a fast, structured way to share advice and solve common challenges that many YMCA leaders are currently facing.
Movement Strengthening discussions offered key updates and a platform for meaningful conversations about the future. It has been a productive time of learning, collaboration, and connection – and the fantastic field trips, hospitality and presentation of the good practices by YMCA Germany also offered some great insight into building a framework for meaningful conversations and establishing a sense of belonging and togetherness.
Overall, we are well impressed by the fantastic and professional leadership showcased by the team at World YMCA, and our special consideration goes to the team at YMCA Germany for hosting and making this event such a resounding success.
