Strengthening Community Leaders: “Capa-City Building” Training of the eDU Hubs and Mobile Centres (EHMC) Project, organised on the18-21 October 2025 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
We are reflecting on an incredible two days in Bratislava as 13 leaders from our eDU Hubs and Mobile Centres (from Germany, Slovakia, and Romania) came together for an impactful capacity-building training event!
The sessions were full of energetic, knowledge sharing and learning from local contexts, helping participants to further strengthen their essential skills in supporting the integration of Ukrainian refugees and supporting host communities.
Key Highlights from the Training:
- Strategic Approaches: presenting the EHMC project and the importance of community ecosystem creation, enhancing community outreach and stakeholder mapping.
- Partnerships & Networking: Understanding the vital principles of strong partnerships and building essential peer support networks.
- Practical Skills: Sharing effective solutions in core service areas like Employment, Mental Health, and Childcare.
- Safe & Inclusive Spaces: Focusing on the complexities of intercultural communication and managing ethical dilemmas as an integrated part of community work.
This training is dedicated to strengthening the critical services these leaders provide on the ground and setting a strong foundation for meaningful change in their communities!
More than just methods, participants left this training with a strong sense of belonging, knowing they are truly part of a team dedicated to the same vital mission.
We strengthened our ability to cooperate and exchange experiences, gaining the practical tools and advice necessary for better initial refugee assistance and mentee interaction.
Crucially, everyone now has a clearer understanding of partnership and stakeholder engagement, reinforced by interactive exercises and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
