After 2010 and 2012, YMCA youth leaders from different European countries meet again for one week. This time in the YMCA Camp Greenhill, Newcastle, Northern Ireland (www.greenhill-ymca.org). They exchange their experiences, discover jointly new models of youth work and build a European-wide network of YMCA leaders.
Date: August 4 – 11, 2014
Place: YMCA Camp Greenhill, Newcastle, Northern Ireland;
Costs: 200,- Euro for food, accommodation and programme, plus travel costs;
Transfer: Individuals can pay an additional 24,- Euro for transportation from Dublin airport to Greenhill
and return.
Aim:
– European Meeting of YMCA youth workers/volunteers
– Training and networking of youth workers/volunteers
– Gain competences for YMCA youth work
– Explore Christian community, discover and strengthen personal faith
– Discover European YMCA dimension, widen your horizon
– Exchange of experiences, recognize differences
– Intercultural learning
– Connecting YMCA youth workers/volunteers
Participants:
– Young voluntary and professional youth workers from European YMCAs
– Youth workers/co-workers from children and youth groups, YMCA centres, TEN SING, Sport groups,
Jungschar and Scout groups, Summer camps, Outdoor camps and more
– Age: 16 – 27 years
Partner groups:
Approx: 10 participants plus 1-2 leaders from each partner group.
Programme:
– Plenary sessions with music, exchange, games, fun, activities, inputs, devotions
– Seminars and workshops with regard to youth work
– Leisure time activities (swimming, shopping, sport, etc.)
– Mutual, interactive, informative evenings, services, etc.
– Projects planned and organized from participants (practical experience)
