On the highly anticipated date of December 14th, we were delighted to reconvene with our vibrant movement during our online Extraordinary General Assembly.
The session commenced with an enthralling opening devotion led by Alina Pop, the Secretary General at YMCA Romania.
Notable highlights included the approval of minutes from the previous General Assembly held in Berlin and the appointment of distinguished individuals to the Nominations Committee: Alex Taylor representing England & Wales, Beate Turck from Germany, and Mike Will representing Scotland.
A significant milestone was achieved as the entire movement came together to unanimously finalize the language encapsulating our ambitious vision in YMCA Vision 2030.
Additionally, our invaluable heritage has now been made digitally accessible, courtesy of the dedicated efforts of our communications team and the Adrian Davies.
Dr. Wolfgang Heinrich contributed an insightful discourse within the framework of the Just World Pillar, marking a thought-provoking conclusion to this enriching assembly. The event also featured an overview of outcomes from the impactful 10th NGS Forum held in the Netherlands.
In looking toward the future, our online meeting concluded with a forward-thinking consultation centered on the evolution of formal education programs. Simultaneously, preparations were set in motion for the eagerly anticipated 2024 General Assembly (Athens, Greece 23-26 May), embodying our commitment to continual growth and progress within the YMCA community.
