The YMCA Europe Youth Representative Network (EYRN) is a dynamic group of young leaders representing the voices of youth across the European YMCA movement. This network provides a platform for young people to actively engage in international advocacy, shape policies, and contribute to YMCA’s mission of empowering youth.
European Youth Representative Network (EYRN)
The primary goal of the EYRN is to advocate for youth-driven change on a European level. It offers members from national YMCAs the opportunity to participate in shaping the future by identifying key priorities for policy change, co-creating youth-led campaigns, and advocating for issues that impact young people both in Europe and globally.
Advocacy
EYRN members work on youth policies and lead advocacy efforts that promote the well-being and rights of young people. Through these initiatives, they ensure that the perspectives and needs of youth are represented in front of key bodies such as the European Union, the Council of Europe, and other international platforms.
Collaboration
EYRN serves as a space for young people to exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and implement joint approaches to solve pressing issues. The network encourages collective action and leadership in shaping the Vision 2030 framework within YMCA Europe and beyond.
Capacity Building
Members of EYRN gain access to training and non-formal education, enhancing their skills in areas like external relations, advocacy, and campaign management. This equips them to engage meaningfully in international structures and strengthen their capacities within their national YMCAs.
Coordination Team
The network is led by a volunteer coordination team that helps to lead projects, organise online and offline meetings as well as steer the network’s joint collaboration and initiatives. Currently, members of the coordination team are: Elina Bimpiri (YMCA Greece), Ema Gier (YMCA Serbia), Jonathan van Varik (YMCA Netherlands).
