In a media landscape more diverse than ever, PulseZ continues to empower young people to become the voices of their community, developing their skills as content creators and journalists, all while building a more resilient and democratic Europe.
The PulseZ event hosted by YMCA Romania demonstrated just that: that young voices are opinion vectors in their communities, bringing local stories and experiences to light and inspiring youth to speak up. Held on the 13th of September on the vibrant streets of Baia Mare, the event united young people eager to explore the power of media in shaping society.
Under the guidance of journalist and author Dana Gagniuc Buzura, participants engaged deeply with themes of media ethics, the responsibility that comes with sharing information, and the critical task of distinguishing truth from manipulation.
Participants were not content with passive learning. Instead, they became creators, walking through their town with fresh eyes and capturing its pulse through articles, short films, reels, and photo reports. This unique approach gave them the tools to reflect their environment authentically and responsibly, proving that youth media can be a powerful vehicle for local change.
By encouraging young people to craft and share their stories, the event underscored how media literacy forms the foundation of a resilient democratic society. These young creators learn not only how to inform but also how to engage, influence, and inspire their peers and wider communities.
PulseZ’s presence in Baia Mare is a testament to the vital role that young voices play in building connected, informed, and active societies: a cornerstone for Europe’s democratic future.
As an innovative media project, PulseZ offers young voices a platform for creation, expression, and self development, allowing young journalists to bring their stories into the limelight. Remarkable local outreach initiatives, such as the event in Baia Mare, prove how how youth are the best creators of their discourse, leveraging their experiences and insights to produce impactful dialogue about their communities, needs and about the future of Europe.
PulseZ offers more than a space for expression; it`s a hub for skill development in digital journalism, helping young creators refine their craft. From learning creative techniques and storytelling to understanding entrepreneurial approaches, participants will connect with experienced correspondents from across Europe, gaining invaluable insights into the media world.
