For the last few years, the YMCA European Spectrum (YES) board has made an effort to meet up for an annual board meeting, held at a board members home over a weekend and all cost is covered by the board members themselves. Sadly the two remaining board members, Maria Pronina and Adela Lakatos, were not able to attend this time
During the two day long meeting, discussions were had on where the YES network is at the moment, how we have gotten here and our vision for where we are heading. Practical issues were discussed and in between work and post-its, there was of course some fun had too.
The main focus of our meeting was to prepare the YES seminar Paths to Progress, which is due to take place before and alongside YMCA Europe’s General Assembly (GA) in Tallinn this May. With YES’s successful grant application to hold the seminar, to the Erasmus+ budget of the EU, at least 50 persons aged 18-30, from 24 different countries will be present at the YES seminar in Tallinn and then carry on to represent their national YMCA movements at the GA. This will be the biggest YES seminar to date, proving the growth in youth involvement and success in youth empowerment within our movement in recent years.
