Participants from 11 different nationalities representing 13 YMCAs (local and national) focused on fundraising fundamentals and prepared a draft fundraising plan for their YMCAs during the Conference.
Jane Burns, Director of Fundraising at YMCA England and Renata Ferrari, Director of Movement Strengthening at the International Group of YMCA of the USA facilitated the different sessions that included modules such as : Donors and Prospecting, Case for Support, Public and Private Sources of Funding and Panel of Best Practices. Ed Eggink and Vardan Hambardzumyan (YMCA Europe´s President and Executive Secretary), presented several best practices developed by YMCA Europe over the last years and Pedro Fueyo (Secretary General of YMCA Spain) shared the reality and developments of YMCA Spain in public and private mobilization of resources for social projects.
The Conference was highly evaluated by the participants and there was a consensus about the need of remaining in contact establishing a network of fundraisers. Evaluations also highlighted that the 3rd Fundraising Conference should be developed by YMCA Europe next year.
Juan Simoes Iglesias, Secretary General, thanked the Planning Team, YMCA Spain as the host movement and everyone involved in the event with a special emphasis on YMCA England and YMCA of the USA for their support and sharing.
