YMCA Siderno, in Italy, has hosted the PulseZ Local event dedicated to connecting sports and journalism, from June 6th to 8th, connecting its community and inspiring young content creators through its Summer League event.
Focusing on sports journalism and community building, the event brought together enthusiastic young participants eager to explore how meaningful content can shape public dialogue. With an NBA special guest joining the sessions, the experience blended inspiration, learning, and hands-on creation — all with youth voices at the center.
The success of the workshops was led in two sessions, the second one, focused on media and writing competencies development running through mid September.
Throughout the event, participants discovered the PulseZ platform. They explored the art of digital storytelling, and learned how to transform their curiosity into powerful narratives on the issues that matter most to them.
Guided by the YMCA Siderno team, they took part in workshops and media challenges designed to strengthen their creative confidence and journalistic perspective.
As part of the “PulseZ Summer League,” participants stepped in front of the camera to share their thoughts, dreams, and reflections — transforming individual ideas into a collective story about youth, media, and empowerment.
“PulseZ is more than conversation — it’s about shaping the future of European media,” shared one facilitator. “By giving space to young perspectives, we amplify their voices and build a narrative that truly belongs to them.”
YMCA Siderno’s commitment to youth development continues to shine through initiatives like PulseZ, offering young people not only the tools to express themselves but also the confidence to engage in Europe’s democratic and media landscape.
And as a result of the sheer passion and engagement, their participants put together incredible pieces of content, designed to highlight the team’s eagerness to elevate youth voices and provide a platform where youth truly matter.
PulseZ offers more than a space for expression; it`s a hub for skill development in digital journalism, helping young creators refine their craft. From learning creative techniques and storytelling to understanding entrepreneurial approaches, participants will connect with experienced correspondents from across Europe, gaining invaluable insights into the media world.
