European Youth Policy Seminar 2013
When:
Start: 28th June 2013, 6 pm

- Meet interesting people
- Share expectations and experiences about Europe
- Visit governmental and non-governmental institutions
- Talk to prominent politicians
- Develop and gain knowledge about Europe – its history, institutions, organizations, relevant actors, policy
- Enjoy Berlin-Night-Life ?

- Identify common goals in the field of Youth Policy
- Train young people to increase influence on decision-making processes, improve advocacy knowledge, skills and experience on a local, national and European level
- Leadership development opportunity
- Increase local and national awareness of policy related issues
- Enhance awareness and involvement of YMCA Europes Youth Policy Group
Who:
Open for volunteers and paid staff
Highlights and special topics:
- Meet with the Secretary General of YMCA Europe, Juan Simoes Iglesias
- Dr. Cees Bremmer (Secretary General of YMCA of the Netherlands), as an expert on European Politics will accompany the seminar
- Doris Klingenhagen (Executive Officer – European Youth Politics – to the Federation of Protestant Youth in Germany, (aej)) will inform us of the recent Youth Policy developments on the European level
- A visit to the "Bundespräsidialamt" (Office of the Federal President) is part of the agenda
Special Topics are: - How to become "Europe" an issue in the youth work?
- Comparison of youth welfare laws of several European countries – What can we learn from each other?
Conditions:
- Due to the funding of the European Union (YIA program), the participants will only have to pay 30% of their travel cost. The fee for program and cost for accommodation and meals are covered by the funding. (This applies for EU-Member States, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. YWCA/YMCA Member Movements of other countries should please contact us for individual arrangements.)
- No age limit
- Deadline for registration is 10th of June 2013
- Up to 2 participants per country. (Possibly even more. In the case of more prospective, they should be also named please.)
