The year 2015 is a special jubilee period for the YMCA Belarus and for the YE Field Group:
- 1995: Foundation year of the first local YMCAs in Belarus
- 1995: First YMCA Europe Field Group Meeting in November
- 2000: Foundation of YMCA Belarus (National Movement) on 14th February (!)
YMCA Belarus celebrated the 15th anniversary in August at the campsite of Ponemoncy.
During the Field Group Meeting the following main topics were discussed (amongst other):
- the extraordinary conditions for the YMCA work in Belarus
- partnerships as crucial tools for sustainability of YMCAs in Belarus
- new partnerships and programmes
- reconstruction work in the YMCA owned building in Ponemoncy
Furthermore the appointment of the new Secretary General of YMCA Belarus was announced. Alexander Drachuk (Brest) will take over from his predecessor Alexander Artushenko as from 1st January 2016. The Field Group as well as the National Conference thanked Sasha Artushenko for his extraordinary commitment during the last twenty years and welcomed his successor.
