Thirteen people from seven countries participated in the meeting. YMCA Europe was represented by the President, Ed Eggink, and Michal Szymanczak, Senior Executive Secretary. It was for the 20th time since 1995 that the Field Group met, hence a kind of jubilee meeting.
Main topics discussed amongst other were:
– the difficult conditions for the YMCA work in Belarus
– partnerships as crucial tools for sustainability of YMCAs in Belarus
– new partnerships and programmes
– relevance of YMCA owned buildings
We were hosted by YMCA Volozhin in its centre and enjoyed the warm welcome from our friends in YMCA Belarus. Thank you so much!
The next Field Group Meeting will take place from 2nd until 3rd October 2015 in Belarus.
