The goal of the projects is to foster access to higher education, acquisition of critical life skills and promote the values of civic engagement and responsibility for and among youth from disadvantaged social backgrounds in the South Caucasus Region, as well as to enhance the sustainability of the YMCA Resource Centers established in Armenia and Georgia by YMCA Europe Roots project.
Conditions & Eligibility Criteria are outlined in detail below.
YMCA Europe Generation Next Internship Projects
- Providing annual academic tuition (scholarship) for senior undergraduate (bachelor) and graduate (master) students.
- Students awarded with scholarships within the project pledge commitment of at least 2 weeks of internship to serve as camp counselors within the residential activities conducted in the Community Resource Centres established in Armenia and Georgia by YMCA Europe Roots project.
- Maximum grant size – € 10’000.
- Maximum project period – 6 months, including preparation, evaluation and reporting.
- Eligible organisations – National or local YMCAs from Armenia and Georgia, any other Civil Society Organizations or academic institutions, if justified.
- Applicant organisations guarantee the induction and subsistence costs of the selected students as contribution in cash to the project.
- Beneficiary criteria – clear evidence of social need and gender balance. Selected students should predominantly represent socially deprived communities or families, such as refugees and IDPs, young people coming from war zones.
The above criteria into consideration, the selection of the beneficiaries is to be carried out by awarded organisations, which should establish their own processes and systems for securing fair and transparent selection process; including screening the applications, shortlisting, interviewing and contracting qualified candidates.
YMCA Europe Generation Next Summer Schools Projects
- Residential innovation-led life-skills development events to be held at the Community Resource Centres established in Armenia and Georgia by YMCA Europe Roots project.
- Evidence of working partnership with and certification by academic institutions to be secured by the applicant organisation.
- Maximum grant size – € 10’000.
- Maximum project period – 6 months, including preparation, evaluation and reporting.
- Eligible organisations – National or local YMCAs from Armenia and Georgia, any other Civil Society Organizations or academic institutions.
- Contribution in cash by applicant organisations or institutions is anticipated.
- Beneficiary criteria – clear evidence of social need and gender balance. Selected students should predominantly represent socially deprived communities or families, such as refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), young people coming from war zones.
