The Centre is placed in Liria, a part of Shkodra, populated by Albanian Roma and Egyptian Community. It is run by the local YMCA association, which for years was actively supported by John Murray, their big friend. John was the CEO of YMCA Buffalo who passed away in Feb 2014.
The activities of the Centre are attended by children and their families and play an important role in the whole area.
One of the most important programmes is help to children with health problems, especially with asthma disease. These children receive treatment during day stay and medical session in Rasma – a place with special micro-climate 1300 m above the see level.
The need of such treatment is unexpectedly high and YMCA Shkodra appeals for support with medicaments and contribution to the cost of medical session in Rasma Camp.
The cost of stay of one child is 10 Euro per day and the duration of each session is 10 days.
The YMCA of Shkodra will appreciate any kind of assistance.
