Milada Pajgrtová, (49) comes to the YMCA from the academic world, where she worked four years at the Charles University in Prague as the Secretary of the Department of Management and Supervision for Health and Social Organizations. Her experience with young people comes not only from her years of experience in the public sector, where she was engaged in working with children in both the school committee and with board of school directors, but also from her motherhood of three children.
Milada was involved in various projects with several Czech NGOs that focus their activities on families with children and young people in excluded localities in the Czech Republic. As a consultant, Milada was involved in raising awareness of the impact of healthy lifestyles and helping to bring this into praxis mainly in the area of nutrition. Besides lectures and courses on health and living a healthy lifestyle, she also contributed with her articles to several publications.
Between the years 1996 and 1999, Milada and her family lived in South East Asia. Here she experienced a strong multicultural society and was inspired by the activities of NCC (Neighborhood Christian Community in Singapore).
Together with her team, Milada aims to build on the rich history of the YMCA and promote dialogue especially among young people, both in the unique context of the Czech Republic and around the world, and provide this way an opportunity for different valuable perspectives, rethinking or even rediscovery of one’s worldview.
