Last month, we had the opportunity to host our partners in Brussels for the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the OASIS project.
Bringing everyone together at this stage of the journey was important—not only to reflect on the progress made, but to align on what comes next. More than a moment of reflection, the meeting confirmed a clear shift: OASIS is now moving from co-creation into implementation.
Addressing a growing European challenge
Across Europe, young people are navigating an increasingly complex digital environment. While digitalisation creates opportunities for connection and inclusion, it also brings challenges linked to overuse, mental wellbeing, and healthy online habits.
The OASIS project (Opportunities for Awareness towards Sustainable and Mindful Digital ConSumption) responds to this need by equipping youth workers, educators, and young people with practical, evidence-based tools.
Its approach is not about limiting digital use, but about fostering more conscious and balanced engagement.
A year of building together
One year since the launch of this project, we have advanced many steps towards our goals. This meeting marks an important milestone: The finalisation of the digitalisation of the OASIS Training Pack and Youth-Friendly Kit. After months of development, testing, and refinement, the materials are now being finished and translated into three languages to become accessible for youth workers, educators, and organisations from different countries.
Throughout these past months, we have also completed four transnational workshops with the participation of over 40 experts (including psychologists, digital specialists, youth workers, educators, and NGO leaders), designed to shape the future of digital well-being for young people and youth workers across Europe.
The TPM gave us the space to step back and look at the bigger picture.
We reviewed the progress across all work packages, shared perspectives, and clarified our priorities for the months ahead. Most importantly, it allowed us to move forward with a shared sense of direction and purpose.

Action at a glance: Where are we headed now?
Now, the focus shifts to bringing this work to life.
In the coming months, we will:
- Launch the OASIS platform, where all resources will be freely accessible
- Deliver training activities for youth workers and educators
- Organise hands-on workshops and digital wellbeing retreats for young people
This is where the project moves beyond development—into real engagement with young people and communities.
Looking ahead
For us at YMCA Europe, OASIS is not just about creating tools—it’s about supporting young people in building a healthier relationship with the digital world. The Brussels meeting marked an important step in that journey.
Now, the focus is clear: turning what we’ve built together into a meaningful, lasting impact.
Stay tuned as we take the next steps.
