The Youth Policy Group plays a central part in YMCA Europe’s advocacy. The new members to be recruited should be either professionals, experts, staff, volunteers with interest, knowledge, or experience of areas of Youth Work, Youth Policy, European Youth Policy, European politics, European Law or other relevant areas related to our 2016-2020 YMCA Europe Strategy.
Their task will be twofold: to support the drafting of Policy Papers in cooperation with the core YPG members and the Brussels Office of YMCA Europe (Advocacy, Project & Fundraising Officer and the Secretary General), the Executive Committee and a Network of Experts, and to be available to represent YMCA Europe in several international and European advocacy fora, participating to international policy training, conferences and seminars.
The YPG will work mostly online, but will meet in person on a couple occasions annually.
The cost of travel and accommodation for the European representation meetings will be nearly always covered by the European Youth Forum. As for the rare occasions where this would not be possible, please signal in your application if your movement would support your presence in these meetings occasionally (once or twice a year) or not. Please note that your movement does not need to support your travel and accommodation all the time for these meetings, but if this would be possible at times we would like to know in your application letter.
The candidate members of the YPG will have to be approved and supported by the YMCA movement they belong to. The selection will be managed by YMCA Europe through the Brussels Office and the Secretary General. The selection will take into account competence, geographical spread of the candidates and availability.
