Participation in the seminar also includes the General Assembly, which starts on May 10-13th , therefore please do not register for it separately. Participants are invited to register through online registration form below.
YES stands for Youth Empowerment Space. It is a network of young leaders aged 18-30 advocating for youth empowerment and youth representation at all levels of European YMCAs and YMCA Europe, aiming to give young people a voice about issues that concern them. YES hopes to have a representative from each European YMCA in order to get young voices heard across countries and to ensure equal representation across the continent. This is done through consultation and engagement with participants of the forum. We involve our representatives in the annual YES Seminar and the YMCA General Assembly, and local and national YES-like events, and provide international experience for young leaders.
Date: Arrivals 7th May 2018 – Departures 13th May 2018. Activities will start on the 8th May in the morning.
Place: Hintersee bei Ramsau, Germany
The main themes of this year’s seminar are resilience, advocacy, vulnerability, and diversity. These issues will be addressed with various non-formal education-based activities, simulation games, and discussions between the various participants, who will also be able to exchange their experiences and expectations. Advocacy will be important theme during this seminar, as participants will learn about the role of NGOs in the struggle for social justice, and will also learn ways to advocate for the people they serve in their community. This Seminar will also allow to participate to our General Assembly, and provide the basic knowledge regarding YMCA Europe and its governance.
National Member Movements will be able to send members to attend the YES seminar. The Erasmus+ grant will cover a number of eligible participants per National Movement, under 30 years of age like presented in the table below.
All expenses of the YES seminar (travel, accommodation and VISA) are covered by an Erasmus grant, but a fee is included to allow the participation also to the days of the GA, which are of higher costs because of the different activities envisaged. The fees are 80 euros total per person for the Western European movements, and 40 for Eastern European movements.

Participants will have to attend the full duration of the seminar (May 8 – May 11) and the GA (May10-May 13).
Age
Participants must be aged 18-30 and nominated by their national YMCA movement for one of their allocated places in the seminar.
VISA Cost
The participants are eligible to reimbursement the cost of obtaining a visa up to EUR 70 per person. Proofs must be submitted to the organizer.
Insurance
All participants are obliged to take their travel insurance policies.
