The growth and development of our movement within our digital initiative continues by accelerating equity in the field of digital upskilling and STEAM within the Communities of Ukraine – one YMCA hub at a time!
From February 28th to March 3rd, we gathered in Lutsk, Ukraine for a milestone event—the HP with YMCA Digital Hub opening and a dynamic “From Ideas to Actions” Digital Hubs & Gaming Workshop, bringing together 15 local YMCAs from across Ukraine.
Building on the success of Bratislava’s European gathering, this event focused on equipping Ukrainian YMCAs with digital tools, innovative learning methods, and gaming for education, reinforcing our shared commitment to digital equity and youth empowerment in Ukraine.
The event has been a fantastic success, with the first day encapsulating the introduction to the country-wide project of developing digital hubs and “Empowering Tomorrow`s Youth with Digital Skills Today.”
The program had over 40 leaders and staff from across Ukraine, representatives from the national office, and Secretary General Viktor Serbulov and Victoria Trofimova, Organizational Development Specialist at YMCA Ukraine.
The Secretary General of YMCA Moldova -Dumitru Roibu was also present – establishing a bridge of good practice exchange and showcasing the ongoing programs the team is developing in Ukraine – with brief insights from the Opening of the YMCA-HP Digital Hub in Slovakia.
The event featured discussions on YMCA’s digital initiatives, it also provided us with the opportunity to connect with the local communications and program delivery leaders of local YMCAs.
The sessions continued with a World Café on best practices, and an “Inverted Thinking” seminar challenging participants to get out of their comfort zone and explore a different perspective and critical thinking methodology.
The last leg of our journey explored innovation and collaboration within the Digital Hub programme. The participants were acquainted with various online resources such as HP LIFE, HP Gaming Garage, and HP AI Educator Academy.
The program included a Panel Discussion on Partnerships and Digital Hub development – enabling participants to “think beyond” the project, and access resources to grow and develop their organisations.
Afternoon sessions focused on Communications, Data Gathering and Media Kit – as well as a discussion on best practices when it comes to the content creation and media development for promotional and branding purposes within the YMCA-HP Digital Hub context.
Great discussions, interactions, and insightful questions – especially when participants were introduced to the Monday data collection system, and sessions on the Concept of digital hubs.
The event has been a resounding success, thanks to everyonefor hosting and welcoming us during these difficult and unprecedented times – as we continue to support the communities of Ukraine.
