The project organized by YMCA Ukraine was designed in the frame of Roots of Reconciliation project of YMCA Europe and is supported by the Council of Europe. The first part is project took place in Truskavets, the city in the Western part of Ukraine from the 24th to 29th of October 2015. The participants of the project are 32 young leaders of YMCA Ukraine together with IDP (internally displaced people from Eastern Ukraine and Crimea).
Through a number of different methods, ranging from quizzes and music, to role plays and group discussion on Do No Harm method, it is aimed to create a safe space for the participants and promote dialogue, mutual understanding, respect, hope for peace and develop their leadership skills.
As a part of the project the participants has to create and realized the project on peacebuilding in their local communities. During the training the participants have created such projects as: bike-ride city action, flash-mob on peace awareness, peace week activities, St Nicolas city action, peace graffiti, interactive concert, photo exhibition. All the projects are aimed at peace building in our communities, integration of IDPs and unity of Ukrainian youth. The implementation of the participants projects will take place during November – December 2015.
