Ed received this decoration for being in board positions in the YMCA on local-; regional-; national- and international level for 50 years. At this moment he is President of YMCA Europe and member of the Executive Committee of the World Alliance of YMCA’s. But he also received this honorable decoration for his voluntary work for many years as Chairman of the Board of the Protestant schools in his home city Maastricht; for his work over the past 15 years in training civil servants about decision making processes in the European Union at the European Institute of Public Administration and for his work in the field of environment- and water management at the Province of Limburg.
The ceremony took place at the Ernst Sillem Hoeve, the conference centre of the YMCA of the Netherlands, during Impact Day. More than 100 enthusiastic volunteers listened to inspiring presentations; took part in workshops; played games and had a big party in the evening.
During this event participants could also say goodbye to Cees Bremmer who retired in July from his position as General-Secretary of the YMCA of the Netherlands. Cees also has participated in many events of YMCA Europe.
We congratulate both Cees and Ed !!
