"Health is the most valuable gift"
We realize the importance of that statement only when this gift is missing or when we feel we are about to lose it, but we must be aware that preserving it depends on us quite often. Therefore our actions are crucial!
Even if some of the events organized by the YMCA at different levels and countries have been postponed, we will still do what we love and will continue providing the support you need when you are behind the computers at home. That's why you are invited to join the "YMCA CONNECTS" Campaign. We set up a Facebook group where you will be able to interact with young people from other countries.
"Wherever you are, Stay safe, Stay connected!" is our call during this period.
We are here for you, and we would like to help you connect with other bright minds to further our connection, mission, vision and purpose. Who are you, which YMCA are you from and how can we as a community help you during these times? We cannot predict how this crisis will develop in the next weeks and months. Therefore we need to seek other ways of working together and interacting. Join us and let’s create a community beyond borders and barriers, where we can continue growing and learning together.
In this group you will be able to distribute materials online, make suggestions for spending your free time at home, posting videos, sharing thoughts….
As YMCA, it is our duty to lead the way with civic responsibility: we don't do it because it was ordered, we do it because it's the right thing to do. We feel close to our fellow citizens, especially the most vulnerable ones. We'll keep safe, and we'll stay connected. We stay connected because we try to stay home, but this is not easy for one's mental health, especially for longer periods of time.
As YMCA we focus on our mind, body and spirit: share how you're using your capacities, how creative you are through arts, music… how you are reflecting, praying and serving your community in these times! Don`t forget to use the hashtag: #YMCAconnects
