Many studies have proven how public speaking is most people's biggest fear. However, for youth workers and young advocates, it is a fear worth overcoming: how can we inspire our peers and our communities? How can we best share our vision and our passion for the change we want to see in the world? YMCA Europe strives to give its young leaders all the tools they need to be active citizens, peacebuilders and advocates for the vulnerable communities they work for.
This is why we are thrilled to announce that we will be collaborating with TED-Ed within YMCA Europe`s signature projects: Roots for Reconciliation and Leadership Academy.
Youth speakers will use TED-Ed's Student Talks curriculum to develop and share their ideas during the workshops and sessions, covering subjects like peace, youth-led change, governance and sharing stories. We want to empower young people to be able to reach out to their peers across the world and to inspire change.
"I have a dream", Dr Martin Luther King said: we hope to help our young people to tell the world what their dream is and to find helpers everywhere to make it come true.
Follow us on our Facebook page, our website and our Instagram to look at their journey and be inspired by the next generation of activists and dreamers.
