The Digital Community Hub at YMCA Bitola (North Macedonia), is empowering young beneficiaries, professionals, and staff to make a difference.
The Hub is boosting digital literacy through tailored HP LIFE Program sessions, designed to facilitate access to basic and intermediate digital competencies for all, equipping participants with essential skills to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
David Manevski, a first-year student at SABA Bitola, majoring in business finds the program sessions at the Digital Community Hub a real game-changer in his academic and prospective career journey.
“My school always shows interest in non-formal education and that is why for the second year we partnered with the YMCA for the digital education courses the YMCA offers supported by HP LIFE.” David is attending the courses together with many of his classmates, his initial goal was to enrich his digital marketing knowledge, and now he is a regular participant in the sessions.
At the centre, young people, teachers, youth workers, and people with special needs are all benefiting from digital literacy training sessions, focused on skills building, practical problem-solving, algorithmic thinking and IT career development – a real community that is not only building a solid ground for digital competencies, but also a support network where everyone is welcome to contribute and share their experiences, in a safe space.
David firmly believes that the future of education is rooted in the digital realm. With this in mind, he approached each hour with unwavering dedication – making the most of the training, skills-building sessions, and access to the vast array of resources offered through the HP LIFE Program.
“My commitment to learning is driven by a deep understanding that digital education is not just a trend, but a transformative force that will shape industries, communities, and lives in the years to come” – said David as he is preparing to contribute meaningfully to a future where technology and education are seamlessly integrated.
David recommends all young people in Bitola, especially those at the beginning of their careers, to take advantage of this free opportunity, and be part of the YMCA Digital Hub, the very first promoter of digital equity in the country.

Digital Community Hubs in the West Balkans is a YMCA initiative, powered by HP to accelerate digital equity in the regions, by helping YMCAs in Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, and North Macedonia to expand existing or create new digital community hubs.
The project aims to expand existing digital hubs and create new ones to enable young people, including those from marginalized communities, teachers, and youth workers, to access greater opportunities for education and employment.
