CooL- Cooperative Learning through Sports and Outdoor Activities was a project designed to contribute to the overall quality of youth work at local, national and European level by equipping group of 40 youth workers and sport leaders from six European countries with advanced knowledge and skills on how to use the method of cooperative learning in youth work through sports and outdoor activities.
They learned how to combine educational methods used in sports /physical education with various methods used in non-formal education with young people, as well as how to use cooperative learning, sports and outdoor activities as efficient tools in talkling about discrimination, promotion of active participation, social inclusion, critical thinking and prevention of violent extremism / radicalization of youth.
The working week gave the opportunity to each group to present how they work in their country and to share games and sport activities, plus the culture and their background during the international evening.
During the week, the board of ESY European Sport YMCA has been reconfirmed for two more years: Mario Trichilo – Italy (chairman), Risto Koikkalainen – Finland (member), Michael Nielsen – Denmark (treasurer), Eje Grönquist – Sweden (member), Aleksandar Kirkovski – YMCA Macedonia (member).
