On the 28-29 of March 2015 the Euro-Asian Festival of martial arts, sports and cultural events organized by YMCA Alliance Moldova and the Federation of National Wrestling "Voievod" took place in Chisinau, Moldova. It involved young leaders of youth organizations, civic activists, volunteers and sportsmen from Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Cyprus, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Russia.
The organizers pointed out the purpose of the event, which is promotion of a healthy lifestyle through sport, cultivation of the tolerance spirit, strengthening the dialogue between sports organizations, promotion of the values and principles of the YMCA.
According to the program, the first day of the Festival was dedicated to the championship of martial arts and the prizes’ awarding to the best fighters, where over 20 teams competed for the title of champions V1. On the second day the organizers prepared for the participants several cultural activities, which emphasized the traditions, customs and cultural specifics of the Republic of Moldova.
The Euro-Asian Festival of martial arts takes place for the 4-th time already. It is an important social and sport event, because it nominates the most active promoters and sustainers, which encourage young people to be active and tolerant, to practice sports and be prepared to face all the current challenges.
We have to involve our youth in practicing sport and by this we can involve them in decision-making processes of defending their rights and interests.
