More than ever this year’s Founders Day is marked by the effects of the war in Ukraine and the response that local and national YMCAs are providing to the humanitarian crisis.
YMCA Setubal chose this relevant day to officially open their first apartment specifically set for a family that left Ukraine weeks ago.
The project was supported by the City of Setubal and other relevant local partners that contributed to this achievement. More information about this project here.
The keys were handed to the family by Viktor Serbulov, Secretary General of YMCA Ukraine during an event that gathered representatives of the local government, other community leaders and beneficiaries of YMCA programmes.
Another nine apartments are being adapted now for this same purpose at Belavista neighborhood where the YMCA is present providing socially relevant programmes for youth and families.
A birthday cake with the YMCA 178th anniversary logo was shared at the door of the new home for the family. Congratulations & Happy Birthday in Action and Solidarity!
